Whining, sniffing around and restlessness all indicate a dog that needs to go. Get him outside quickly then praise him for doing well. Establish a word you will use with your dog for potty training. When you praise him, use this word. “Good boy to go potty outside” will help your dog associate what he just did with your pleasure.
