The obstacles and joys are proving to be numerous. To name just a few, I will start with finding a venue for articles, getting paid for submissions, surviving the long waiting period for publication on free lance articles and pay day.<br /> <br /> Now each of these areas affords both challenges and rewards. As an optimist, let me first mention the rewards.<br /> <br /> In finding a venue for articles in the beginning of a free lance writing career, one must rely upon what is already available on known published forums. The internet serves a vast pool for such forums. In fact, that is how I found The Article Sense.<br /> <br /> Applying to become a member with established forums is basically simple. The next step is to foster creativity which is necessary to come up with article, blog and story ideas. Tap into the wealth of your personal experience on this one. Relate to your family and work life, travel experiences, your favorite books and hobbies, personal relationships and the like. In this realm of personal experience will emerge some of your best stories.<br /> <br /> Stay with what is familiar. That is a hard fast rule. To enhance your creativity, try new experiences, read new books, talk to people and research the market place to find what is out there. Feed the creative mind with input.<br /> <br /> Moving on to the next obstacle, getting paid for submissions is a bit trickier and definitely requires patience. Be consistent in posting your articles. Be consistent and persistent in requesting payment. Follow up on a regular time schedule to help remain focused on the tasks at hand. Keep a chart of companies for which you write and regularly apply for payment. Continue to follow up in a timely fashion. This usually works.<br /> <br /> On the last item listed as an obstacle is the long waiting period for payday and for articles to reach publication. This just takes pure patience along with the ability to be involved in areas in the writing career and personal life to help endure.<br /> <br /> As my freelance writing career builds and flourishes, I will post updates on the art of surviving a free lance writing career.
