It is a fact that if you go to other countries you'll hear perhaps many tongues, but there is one main language, and if you are to communicate as well as live there, then you'll have to learn that main tongue. <br /> <br /> For example, if you go to Japan it's fine you speak another language but you'll be expected to learn the native tongue. <br /> <br /> And that is precisely the way it should be. Here in America it's well you speak other languages, but it's a must you learn English in order to become a citizen and get a good job and be able to get all our country has to offer which is a great bounty.<br /> <br /> There are spanish people coming here on our soil demanding we bow to their demands of giving Spanish equal rights with our language but that is against what is allowed.<br /> <br /> We have English as our main language and that's the bottom line. <br /> <br /> It's great to learn Spanish but only if it is a choice, because we have a main language English. I'm a proud America and in order to succeed as a nation we must have one main spoken language for everyone who comes to America.<br /> <br /> I'm very much for the Spanish language and feel it's very important to learn it as we can all help each other.<br /> <br /> English must stand above the others here in our wonderful USA.<br /> <br /> I'm not sure who's doing all this pushing to raise up Spanish equal to our English here in our country, but if they don't agree with our policy, they must go back to their own culture. <br /> <br /> We pledge allegence to The United States Of America and I will fight for that as long as there's a breath in my body.<br /> <br /> Make no mistake, Spanish is a great language and the Spanish people are noble people but it is not a good thing for the citizens of this United States to lose jobs to another group which are not originally from here or citizens.<br /> <br /> I'm all for helping anyone that will follow the rules of the great USA. <br /> <br /> But not coming here illegially telling us we need to help them when our own people don't have jobs or help.<br /> <br /> We've celebrated well over 200 years of English as our national language and in order to hold our heritage we the people must come to our senses.<br /> <br /> I did not see for myself this onslaught of trying to put Spanish in our country above or equal to English until recently and I'm ashamed to admit that.<br /> <br /> That only reinforces how fast asleep we the American people are, that our freedom and rights are being jeopardized and we're letting it happen right under our nose.<br /> <br /> Even our own departments of governments are pushing for learning the Spanish<br /> language to get a good job here when we should be pushing English to get a good job here in USA.<br /> <br /> I'm simply saying English is our native main tongue. We also need to learn others too. <br /> <br /> If those that are protesting and coming against our main national language do not like what we Americans do here then let them go back to their own country immediately.<br /> <br /> I do want to make a special note here that all Spanish people here are not bad nor coming against us because there are many that have learned the English language that are proud of that.<br /> <br /> They love America and want to keep her the way she is.<br /> <br /> The problem is with a special group that are controlled and funded by powers mainly outside the United States that want America to lose her Sovernity and greatness to rule rightly.<br /> <br /> With all that said, I do highly recommend learning Spanish for a number of reasons.<br /> <br /> #1 - You can help those who cannot speak English but would like to learn the national language.<br /> #2 - As a second language, Spanish has much to offer, it's music and people<br /> <br /> #3 - There are Spanish books and works of art that are worth reading and seeing.<br /> #4 - If you travel, and you know Spanish along with English, where ever you go,you'll be able to depend on yourself instead of an interrupter for directions, food, lodging,and all other necessary needs. <br /> <br /> You'll be able to understand people, and just knowing Spanish will get you through the gate.<br /> <br /> In America, English is our national language and we must keep it that way. <br /> <br /> Also learning a second tongue, Spanish, will help us to understand all the people here who talk it as well as helping teach them to learn English. <br /> <br /> If we go abroad knowing a second language, it will help us to be independent and where we travel to, we'll understand the music and enjoy reading and hearing for ourselves. <br /> <br /> Spanish is a great second tongue and we can learn many things from it as long as English is our main language with others added as desired.<br>Sam Phillips is author of smoky-mountainvacation.com.
