Electric cars, on the other hand, use a battery (which is rechargeable) to provide the electricity to the motor. The motor then turns on the transmission which results in the wheels moving.<br /> <br /> Since hybrid cars are a cross between the gasoline and electricity powered cars, they have the advantages of both cars and few of the disadvantages associated with these two types of cars. As we all know both electric only or gas only cars have their individual shortcomings these being: Electric cars don't pollute the environment; however, they cannot go more than 100 miles without being charged again.
